A homegrown, underground jazz fusion night.
Members of the Afro-Punk collective Steam Down lead a creative workshop series celebrating social justice heritage through poetry, rap, beatbox, music production, and visual art. These heritage-inspired sessions invite participants to explore the relationship between sound, memory, and local history within Union Chapel’s 200-year archive. Facilitated by Germane Marvel and guest artists, the programme offers an opportunity to reinterpret stories of resistance, identity, and migration through contemporary artistic expression and collaborative creation. The workshops centre on radical openness and communal rituals of reflection, envisioning new futures while honouring the past.
