Masters of Anatolian folk perform an intimate set featuring fretless classical guitar and bağlama. Experience timeless traditions. Lineup on Mood.
Erkan Oğur and İsmail Hakkı Demircioğlu have performed together as a duo since the 1990s, becoming prominent figures in Turkish folk music. Known for their harmonious vocal work and intricate string playing, the masters draw from centuries-old Anatolian musical traditions. Their performances offer a contemporary, mystical interpretation of timeless songs and melodies. Oğur is celebrated as the inventor of the fretless classical guitar, a development that allowed him to integrate traditional Turkish microtones with Western instrumentation. Demircioğlu complements this with his fluid and expressive mastery of the bağlama. Their recent work continues the deep artistic connection established in their early duo recordings.
