Jörg-Andreas Bötticher is the master of ceremonies during this breathtaking showcase of Lenten music. The German harpsichordist, organist, and professor at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis is known for his subtle, historically informed interpretations. Together with ten soloists and continuo, Voces Suaves explores the world of father and son Scarlatti: Alessandro’s serene Salve Regina, which elevates devotion to art, and Domenico’s completely unique ten-voice Stabat Mater. Masterful works by other Italian composers, such as Lotti’s beautiful Crucifixus and Allegri’s world-famous Miserere, will also be performed.
The vocal ensemble Voces Suaves will be performing, joined by Jörg-Andreas Bötticher.
The event will be held at Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ in Amsterdam.
The program focuses on early music and baroque works, including Scarlatti's Stabat Mater, Lotti's Crucifixus, and Allegri's Miserere.
The concert is scheduled for February 28, 2027.
