Last Resort x Radical Sounds Latin America

Last Resort joins forces with Radical Sounds Latin America for a night bringing together distinctive approaches to rhythm, percussion and electronic music, connecting generations and currents of experimental sound from Latin America, its diasporas and beyond. Mexican producer Siete Catorce presents a hybrid set drawing on more than a decade of work across genres, shaped by meticulous sound design and an unmistakable rhythmic sensibility. Berlin-based Viiaan, originally from Mexico City, brings her distinctive blend of fractured breaks, weighted percussion and low-lit dub and techno structures, inspired by Detroit influences and the primal force of drums across cultures. Her set will feature a special appearance by Palestinian rapper, producer and selector Dakn whose Arabic-language lyrics have become a distinctive voice in Berlin’s underground scene. A key figure in Lima’s electronic music scene, Orieta Chrem brings an eclectic approach to the dancefloor, moving between global bass, Brazilian funk, reggaeton, footwork, kuduro and techno, informed by over two decades of DJing, production and independent music curation. Completing the lineup, Brazilian percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Mauricio Takara draws on a wide-ranging practice spanning experimental electronics, improvisation and Brazilian rhythmic traditions.
