The Portal vol. 6 - Ambient Gong and Drone Listening in the Chapel

Set in the acoustically resonant Kiezkapelle, this two-hour sound performance invites you into a deep listening space shaped by multiple gongs, chimes, analog drones, vocal loops and layered textures. The space itself amplifies the sound in a way that creates an enveloping, almost cinematic atmosphere. This is as much a concert as it is a listening experience, you’re welcome to lie down and close your eyes, but there will be dissonant, dynamic episodes where it might be interesting watching the performance unfold. Kimi Recor is a Berlin-based ambient artist and producer whose work moves between devotional electronics, drone, and song. Yasemin Vollmond is a sound art artist and composer working at the intersection of gong, breath, and altered states. Both perform entirely live and intuitively, responding to the room and to each other in real time.
