An underground, nostalgic contemporary classical night.
Herbert-von-Karajan-Straße 1, 10785 Berlin, Germany
The Junge Deutsche Philharmonie features Germany's top music students, representing the next generation of orchestral musicians. This season, they perform at the Philharmonie Berlin under the direction of John Storgårds. The program includes Joseph Haydn's festive Symphony No. 99 and Sergei Prokofiev's dramatic Sixth Symphony, which reflects the horrors of the Second World War. The concert opens with Storgårds performing the solo part in Sebastian Fagerlund's Helena’s Song, a violin and orchestra arrangement of a moving scene from his opera Höstsonaten.
