A raw chamber music night.
This programme, titled 'Beethoven Re-Sounded: Beethoven and Humour', explores the playful and humanist side of Ludwig van Beethoven's music. While often associated with dramatic turbulence, his work frequently features humour and light-heartedness. The concert presents a range of playful compositions from the classical era to the present day. The Nash Ensemble, Wigmore Hall's Chamber Ensemble in Residence, is joined by soprano Claire Booth and students from the Royal Academy of Music. The performance includes works by Beethoven, Joseph Haydn, Colin Matthews, and Camille Saint-Saëns.
