Mannheim's ENGIN showcase a global approach to German indie pop, drawing from Anatolian rock, U.S. psychedelia, and Britpop. Far from formulaic, the trio—comprising Engin Devekiran, Jonas Stiegler, and David Knevels—explores themes of identity, longing, and adulthood through multilingual lyrics, including Turkish. Their performance at the Pop-Kultur Festival follows the release of their impactful album Sag mir Almanya. Pop-Kultur Festival 2026 runs from August 24–30 across various Berlin venues including silent green Kulturquartier, Festsaal Kreuzberg, and Kulturbrauerei, featuring live concerts, experimental formats, and talks with international and local artists.
