"Sea Scroll" represents the second installment in an ongoing project by Penny Yiou Peng 彭憶歐 and Marijn Degenaar exploring sonic semantics and ritual performance. Rooted in the ancient mythical text Shan Hai Jing 山海經, the duo translates tales of winged and fiery creatures into soundscapes using voice, acoustic instrumentation, electronic manipulation, and field recordings. Audience members are invited to share tea and soup while experiencing this immersive sonic séance.
