Austin's long-running Viva La Vida Festival celebrates Día de los Muertos across downtown. The festivities open with a Grand Procession starting at noon on 4th and Congress, leading into an afternoon street festival with live musical performances, a low-rider showcase, the Muertos Mercado artisan market, traditional food vendors, and hands-on art workshops at Mariposa Plaza.
The festival takes place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, starting at noon with a procession at 4th and Congress Avenue, continuing around the Mexic-Arte Museum at 419 Congress Ave in downtown Austin.
The event features a grand procession, a low-rider showcase, the Muertos Mercado artisan market, traditional food vendors, and hands-on art workshops.
