Sonia Calico is a leading figure in the Taiwanese electronic music scene. Based in Taipei, she is a DJ, producer, and cultural activist who develops an audacious club universe where bass music, global rhythms, and futuristic visions converge, with a particular focus on East and Southeast Asian perspectives. Her signature sound is inventive and free, blending rave grooves, deconstructed percussion, and powerful electronic textures. As the founder of the UnderU label and collective and director of the GLOWBALL Festival, she views music as a vital space for creation, circulation, and community.
