An underground, slow-burn neoclassical night.
Piet Heinkade 1, 1019 BR Amsterdam, Netherlands
Cello Octet Amsterdam and Sophie van Winden present a musical death scene exploring the question: what do we leave behind? Set against the backdrop of the climate crisis, the performance follows Magda, a 100-year-old woman ready to cease living, who surrounds herself with the elements in their purest form. The production features the music of Ryuichi Sakamoto and a new text by Sophie van Winden, examining the role of the artist in an era of environmental change.
