A double anniversary celebration in 2026 marks thirty years since Michael Gordon's iconic work Trance premiered, alongside the composer's 70th birthday. Trance remains a powerful musical whirlwind, featuring challenging rhythms, intense brass sections, and fierce electric bass and guitar. The renowned Dutch Ensemble Klang and Luxembourg's United Instruments of Lucilin perform this hypnotic masterpiece alongside world premieres by Calliope Tsoupaki and David Fennessy. Gordon's zevendelige tour de force creates a world of shifting rhythmic layers that are both explosive and mesmerizing, performed by an impactful group of 23 amplified musicians.
