Since first meeting as midwestern high-schoolers in 2009, Citizen have emerged as one of the most promising young bands in the alternative underground today. Their fuzzy, guitar-driven rock songs bleed emotion, calling on the sounds of Brand New and early Nirvana to create a familiar yet distinct aesthetic. Southern Californian melodic rock outfit Modern Color sonically reflects the rich hardcore and indie scenes of their home, blending these influences into a sound that borders on the heavier side of shoegaze. Northampton's thistle. emerged from the ashes of the popular local punk band Tragic. Influenced by American shoegaze and indie-punk, their high-energy performances seamlessly transition from brash fuzz and noise to emotive melodic passages.
