An underground electronica night.
The London Roots Festival presents the debut of Birdvox and their first album, Shamming The Drama. The project features twelve songs exploring joy, rage, connection, and peace, blending political disco and skewed-folk with electronica. Birdvox is a collective of established artist-producers: Sarah Hayes of Admiral Fallow; Inge Thomson, a collaborator with Karine Polwart; Jenny Sturgeon of Salt House; and Charlotte Printer, who has performed with Altered Images and Joesef. The album was produced by the group alongside Peter Brewis of Field Music. Performing in Scots, Shetland dialect, old Norn, and English, the band creates a unique musical perspective and an energetic live experience.
