Picture a Friday night where bossa nova slides into slow-burning soul, a jazz line turns into a funk groove, and two voices trade phrases and push each other into improvisation. It is warm, close and unpredictable, and the two singers are sisters. Stefania and Paola Arcieri grew up in Bari, in southern Italy, singing together before taking different musical paths. Stefania became a regular on London's jazz circuit, known for her scat and daring improvisation. Paola crossed the Atlantic to study at Berklee and spent years singing, producing, and DJing between New York and Los Angeles. On 27 November, they bring their distinct musical worlds together on one stage.
