The Sound Practice Research (SPR) group comprises students from various disciplines at the Folkwang University of the Arts. Led by Jan St. Werner and Michael Akstaller, SPR have teamed up with CTM Festival and the Futures of Listening initiative to create an artistic lab that invites international artists to engage in four days of theoretical discussion and practical experimentation around spatial sound. The lab's finale, this collective performance and presentation by the lab's fellows and hosts, is the culmination of recording and experimentation field trips to various Berlin locations, listening sessions, and collaborative exchanges to explore how space becomes an active element of musical composition.
