Join violinist Matt Holborn and his trio for an evening of swinging jazz violin. Matt and the band will be performing music from the Great American Songbook alongside original material from his recent album For Stuff. The album takes inspiration from jazz violin legend Stuff Smith, a major figure in jazz from the 1930s onward who played with Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Nat King Cole, and Ben Webster. Matt is joined by Fraser Urquhart on piano and Simon Read on double bass. Matt Holborn is a jazz violinist based in Leeds, widely regarded as one of the top UK performers in his field. He is well-versed in many forms of improvised, contemporary, and world music.
