Lang Lang joins Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra for Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto and Stravinsky’s Petrushka. Tickets on Mood.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra’s residency pairs two giants who changed the course of classical music: Beethoven and Stravinsky. Superstar Lang Lang kicks off the three-part series with Beethoven’s dazzling First Piano Concerto. The programme also features Stravinsky’s Petrushka, a groundbreaking work for the Ballets Russes. The ballet tells the story of three puppets brought to life by a magician's flute melody, capturing the bustling atmosphere of the Shrovetide Fair through Russian folk melodies and original orchestration.
