G House-Events in Amsterdam

G-house, short for gangsta house, is a subgenre of house music that emerged in the early 2010s, blending the steady 4/4 rhythms of deep house with the aggressive aesthetic and lyrical themes of 1990s gangsta rap. Its sonic signature is defined by heavy, driving basslines, sharp percussion, and manipulated vocal samples often stripped from classic hip-hop tracks to create a provocative, urban atmosphere. Characterized by a mid-tempo range typically between 120 and 125 beats per minute, the genre prioritizes a dark, club-oriented energy that bridges the gap between electronic dance music and street culture. This stylistic fusion results in a high-energy, danceable sound that maintains a gritty, low-fidelity edge while remaining functionally effective for modern nightclub environments.
