Supergroup-Events in Amsterdam

A supergroup is a musical ensemble composed of members who have already achieved significant fame and commercial success as solo performers or as part of other established bands. This classification emerged prominently in the late 1960s rock scene, characterized by the convergence of diverse virtuosic talents into a single high-profile project. While instrumentation and tempo vary according to the specific sub-genre, supergroups typically emphasize collaborative prowess and sophisticated production, often blending the distinctive styles of their constituent members. They serve as a unique taxonomic entity defined by the professional pedigree of the performers rather than a specific rhythmic pattern, often acting as a bridge between established legacies and experimental new directions.
