Dixieland-Events diesen Monat in Athen

Dixieland, often referred to as Hot Jazz or Traditional Jazz, originated in early 20th-century New Orleans as a vibrant synthesis of ragtime, blues, and brass band marches. The genre is characterized by a "front line" consisting of trumpet, trombone, and clarinet performing collective polyphonic improvisation over a steady rhythm section of piano, banjo, drums, and tuba. Its rhythmic structure typically employs a syncopated 4/4 meter with a fast, upbeat tempo, creating an exuberant and celebratory atmosphere often associated with parade music. As a foundational pillar of the jazz lineage, Dixieland bridges the gap between early folk traditions and the more structured big band swing era that followed.
