Black Americana-Events diese Woche in Barcelona

Emerging as a reclamation of American roots music, Black Americana blends folk, country, blues, and gospel to highlight the Black experience across the American South. The genre typically features acoustic instrumentation like the banjo, fiddle, and guitar, often emphasizing the West African origins of string instruments through rhythmic fingerpicking. Tempos vary from slow, soulful ballads to mid-tempo percussive numbers rooted in traditional field hollers and spirituals. This movement maintains a reflective and resilient mood, acting as a historical corrective to mainstream Americana while remaining semantically linked to early twentieth-century string band traditions and rural soul music.
