Deathstep-Events in Barcelona

Emerging in the early 2010s as an aggressive fusion of dubstep and deathcore, deathstep is defined by its extreme, distorted soundscapes and abrasive textures. The instrumentation relies heavily on modulated growling synthesizers, crushing sub-bass, and mechanical percussion that often mimics the intensity of heavy metal drumming. Characterized by a dark and menacing mood, the genre maintains a standard 140 BPM halftime rhythm while incorporating chaotic sound design and occasional samples of death metal vocals or riffs. It functions as a sonic bridge between electronic dance music and extreme metal, emphasizing raw energy and rhythmic violence over melodic structure or accessibility.
