Delta Blues-Events dieses Wochenende in Barcelona

Originating in the Mississippi Delta during the late 19th century, Delta Blues serves as a foundational pillar of American roots music and a primary ancestor to modern rock and roll. The genre is characterized by its sparse instrumentation, typically featuring a solo performer with an acoustic or slide guitar and a harmonica, emphasizing a raw and expressive vocal delivery. Rhythmically, it often utilizes a steady, percussive thumb-beat accompanied by intricate fingerpicking patterns and the 12-bar structure, creating a deep, driving groove. Its mood is predominantly soulful and melancholic, reflecting the socio-economic struggles of the Deep South while maintaining a gritty, unpolished production quality that prioritizes emotional authenticity over technical perfection.
