Flamenco Pop-Events in Barcelona

Flamenco pop is a fusion genre that emerged in Spain during the late 20th century, blending traditional Andalusian folk elements with contemporary Western pop production. The instrumentation typically features the acoustic Spanish guitar and rhythmic handclapping known as palmas, often layered over electronic synthesizers and standard pop drum kits. Rhythms frequently draw from the rumba flamenca style, maintaining a steady but syncopated 4/4 beat that encourages movement while preserving the genre's passionate and melodic mood. As a commercial evolution of Nuevo Flamenco, it serves as a bridge between the raw intensity of cante jondo and the polished accessibility of global radio hits.
