Nu Jazz-Events diesen Monat in Barcelona

Nu jazz is a genre that emerged in the late 1990s, particularly in Europe, blending traditional jazz elements with contemporary electronic production styles. It typically utilizes a hybrid instrumentation that pairs acoustic instruments like saxophones and upright basses with synthesizers, samplers, and programmed drum loops. The rhythmic structure often leans toward mid-tempo broken beats or steady house grooves, creating a sophisticated yet accessible atmosphere that favors improvisation within a structured electronic framework. Functionally, the genre serves as a bridge between the improvisational complexity of hard bop and the chilled aesthetics of downtempo and acid jazz.
