Argentine Metal-Events dieses Wochenende in Berlin

Argentine metal emerged in the early 1980s as a defiant response to the nation's military dictatorship, pioneered by seminal bands like V8 and Riff who established its foundational sound. Characterized by aggressive distorted guitars, driving double-bass drumming, and emphatic Spanish-language vocals, the genre blends elements of traditional heavy metal and thrash with a distinct local socio-political lyrical focus. It maintains a gritty, resilient mood reflecting urban struggles and social marginalization, deeply connecting it to the broader "Rock Nacional" movement while distinguishing itself through its sonic intensity and raw, working-class identity. Tempos typically range from mid-tempo grooves to high-speed thrash rhythms, utilizing complex riffing patterns and powerful, low-end bass frequencies that define this uniquely regional aesthetic.
