Chilean Techno-Events dieses Wochenende in Berlin

Chilean techno emerged in the late 1990s, catalyzed by the return of expatriate artists like Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano to Santiago. Characterized by a fusion of European minimal techno and subtle Latin American percussive sensibilities, the genre typically employs stripped-back digital synthesis and intricate field recordings. Its rhythm is defined by a hypnotic, shuffling 4/4 pulse at moderate tempos, creating an atmospheric and cerebral mood that prioritizes texture over aggression. As a distinctive branch of the global electronic scene, it maintains a close semantic relationship with microhouse and glitch while often incorporating more organic, spacious soundscapes unique to the mountainous Chilean landscape.
