Electropop-Events in Berlin

Emerging in the late 1970s and peaking in the early 1980s, electropop is a fusion genre that blends the melodic sensibilities of pop music with the synthetic textures of electronic music. It is characterized by the prominent use of synthesizers, drum machines, and sequencers, often emphasizing a polished, digital sound over acoustic instruments. The genre typically features consistent, danceable rhythms and moderate to upbeat tempos, serving as a more accessible and radio-friendly successor to the avant-garde experiments of early synth-pop. Known for its bright, catchy hooks and sleek production, electropop bridged the gap between underground electronic scenes and mainstream top-40 charts, influencing various modern dance-pop styles.
