Experimental Guitar-Events diese Woche in Berlin

Emerging from the avant-garde and art rock movements of the mid-20th century, experimental guitar pushes the boundaries of traditional technique and conventional tonal structures. It often utilizes non-standard tunings, physical preparations like alligator clips or glass, and an extensive array of effects pedals or digital signal processing to create unconventional soundscapes. Rhythms are frequently non-linear or polyrhythmic, while tempos vary significantly from glacially slow ambient drones to frantic, dissonant passages. This genre maintains a strong semantic relationship with noise music, free improvisation, and post-rock, emphasizing textural exploration and sonic innovation over standard melodic conventions or mainstream radio-friendly song structures.
