Forest Psy-Events dieses Wochenende in Berlin

Forest psytrance, often referred to as forest psy, emerged in the late 1990s from Scandinavian and Russian underground scenes as a more organic, atmospheric evolution of traditional psychedelic trance. The genre is characterized by high tempos ranging from 145 to 160 BPM, featuring deep, rolling basslines overlaid with complex, squelchy FM synthesis and manipulated field recordings of woodland environments. Its sonic palette prioritizes hypnotic, nocturnal textures over bright melodies, creating a dark yet mystical mood that mimics the density of a natural forest. Positioned between darkpsy and organic trance, forest psy emphasizes immersive soundscapes and intricate percussive layers that induce deep, meditative states of dance.
