Italian Punk-Events diese Woche in Berlin

Italian punk emerged in the late 1970s as a fierce response to the country's turbulent socio-political climate known as the Years of Lead. Defined by its raw, high-energy delivery, the genre typically features distorted electric guitars, driving basslines, and rapid-fire drumming often exceeding 160 BPM. While it shares the DNA of British and American punk rock, the Italian scene is characterized by its intense lyrical focus on anarchism and social critique, often leaning toward the abrasive sounds of hardcore punk. This movement fostered a strong DIY ethic and a distinct melodic sensibility that remains a foundational pillar within the global underground punk taxonomy.
