Latin Folk-Events dieses Wochenende in Berlin

Latin folk, or música folclórica latinoamericana, represents a rich tapestry of musical traditions born from the synthesis of indigenous, Spanish, Portuguese, and African influences across Central and South America. This genre primarily utilizes acoustic instrumentation, including the nylon-string guitar, charango, zampoña, and traditional percussion like the bombo legüero or cajón. Rhythmically, it oscillates between intricate syncopations and steady, earthy beats, with tempos ranging from contemplative, slow-paced ballads to spirited, dance-oriented compositions. Often conveying moods of profound nostalgia, pastoral joy, or social resilience, Latin folk shares deep semantic roots with World Music and provides the essential rhythmic blueprints for modern Latin American popular and alternative music styles.
