Persian Traditional-Events heute Abend in Berlin

Persian traditional music, also known as Sonati, is a sophisticated modal art form rooted in the Radif, a canonical repertoire of melodic figures organized into twelve dastgahs. Centered around traditional instruments like the tar, santur, and kamancheh, it balances rhythmic compositions with unmetered, improvisational vocal and instrumental sections. The music is characterized by its deep emotional depth and spiritual introspection, often utilizing microtonal intervals and complex ornamentation to evoke a sense of mystical longing. While it shares historical roots with Arabic and Turkish maqam systems, Persian classical music is distinguished by its unique aesthetic focus on melodic fluidity and its intimate connection to classical Persian poetry.
