Spanish Rock-Events dieses Wochenende in Berlin

Spanish rock, or rock en español, emerged in the late 1950s as musicians across Spain and Latin America adapted Western rock and roll into their own linguistic contexts. The genre typically utilizes electric guitars, bass, and drums, often incorporating synthesizers and traditional Latin percussion to create distinctive rhythmic profiles. Characterized by a broad tempo range and a mood swinging from defiant rebellion to introspective romanticism, it maintains a strong semantic connection to Latin alternative while being defined by its Spanish-language lyrics. This diverse movement evolved from underground experimentation into a massive global force, influencing regional scenes and bridging cultural divides through its fusion of rock tropes with local sensibilities.
