Brazilian Jazz-Events dieses Wochenende in Hamburg

Brazilian jazz emerged in the late 1950s as a sophisticated fusion of traditional samba rhythms and the harmonic structures of American cool jazz. Typical instrumentation centers on the nylon-string guitar, piano, and light percussion, often accompanied by flute or saxophone to create a breezy, lyrical atmosphere. The genre is characterized by fluid, syncopated patterns and moderate tempos that emphasize melodic elegance and rhythmic nuance over high-intensity performance. Inherently linked to bossa nova, it acts as a cultural bridge, blending the nostalgic warmth of Latin folk music with the improvisational freedom of the global jazz tradition.
