Garage Rock-Events dieses Wochenende in Hamburg

Garage rock originated in the mid-1960s across North America as a raw, amateurish reaction to the sophisticated production and perceived refinement of the British Invasion. Typically characterized by distorted electric guitars, basic drum patterns, and occasionally strained vocals or Farfisa organs, the genre intentionally emphasizes high energy over technical proficiency. Its driving rhythms and aggressive delivery created a crucial sonic blueprint that directly influenced the subsequent punk rock and grunge movements. This genre functions as a vital bridge between blues-influenced rock and roll and the DIY ethics of modern underground alternative music, maintaining a gritty, low-fidelity aesthetic that prioritizes raw emotional impact and a rebellious, unpolished spirit.
