Arab Folk-Konzerte und Live-Shows in London

Arab folk music encompasses the traditional and heritage-driven sonic expressions of the Arabic-speaking world, deeply rooted in the Bedouin nomadic traditions and diverse urban centers of the Middle East and North Africa. It is characterized by the use of the maqam modal system and intricate rhythmic cycles known as iqa'at, primarily utilizing instruments like the oud, qanun, nay, and riq. The genre's mood spans from the profound, soul-stirring emotional depth of tarab to energetic, percussive folk dances used in communal celebrations. Historically related to Byzantine and Persian musical traditions, Arab folk serves as a foundational pillar for contemporary Arabic pop while maintaining its distinct focus on acoustic textures and poetic lyrical storytelling.
