Roots Rock-Events dieses Wochenende in London

Roots rock emerged in the late 1960s as a deliberate back-to-basics movement that rejected the sprawling excesses of psychedelic and progressive rock by integrating fundamental elements of country, folk, and blues into a standard rock framework. Instrumentation typically features a prominent mix of acoustic and electric guitars, Hammond organs, and a sturdy, backbeat-oriented rhythm section moving at moderate, accessible tempos. The mood is characteristically earthy and unpretentious, emphasizing organic songwriting and a raw, live-performance aesthetic that consciously eschews polished studio production. It functions as a crucial stylistic bridge between the classic rock-and-roll era and the modern Americana movement, prioritizing heritage and heartfelt sincerity over avant-garde experimentation.
