Scottish Rock-Events dieses Wochenende in London

Scottish rock emerged in the late 1960s as a distinct regional movement that synthesized British Invasion sensibilities with traditional Celtic folk influences and later post-punk textures. Typical instrumentation focuses on electric guitars, bass, and drums, though many acts incorporate bagpipes, fiddles, or accordions to create a unique sonic landscape. The rhythm is generally grounded in a steady 4/4 time signature with tempos ranging from expansive anthemic ballads to high-energy alternative rock numbers. Characterized by a mood that balances gritty realism with triumphant melodicism, the genre shares close semantic ties with Britpop and indie rock while maintaining a unique identity through its lyrical themes of heritage and identity.
