Swamp Rock-Events dieses Wochenende in London

Emerging from the Southern United States in the late 1950s and 1960s, swamp rock is a roots-oriented subgenre that fuses rock and roll, country, and blues with the distinct cultural influences of Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta. It is characterized by its "swampy" atmosphere, often utilizing tremolo-laden electric guitars, slide guitar work, and occasionally harmonicas or accordions to create a murky, humid sonic environment. The genre typically features mid-tempo, laid-back rhythms with a heavy emphasis on a "pocket" groove, conveying a mood that is both earthy and occasionally dark. As a precursor to Southern rock, swamp rock maintains a strong semantic connection to blues rock and Cajun music, prioritizing raw, organic performances over polished studio production.
