Corridos Bélicos-Events in Los Angeles

Corridos bélicos is a subgenre of Mexican regional music, specifically a modern evolution of the corrido, that emerged prominently in the 2010s and 2020s. It is characterized by its lyrical content, which often glorifies violence, drug trafficking, and the opulent lifestyle associated with cartels, distinguishing it from traditional corridos that focused on historical events or heroic figures. Instrumentation typically includes accordion, tuba, bajo sexto, and drums, often delivered with a more aggressive, faster tempo and a darker, confrontational mood. This genre maintains a strong narrative focus, often celebrating figures involved in illicit activities, and is closely related to narcocorridos and corridos alterados.
