Float House-Events in Los Angeles

Emerging in the mid-2010s as a hazy evolution of deep house, float house is defined by its ethereal, atmospheric textures and a rhythmic foundation that prioritizes subtle grooves over aggressive impact. The genre typically employs analog-style synthesizers, lush pads, and sampled jazz elements layered over classic Roland percussion patterns, often maintaining a steady tempo between 120 and 126 beats per minute. Its mood is characterized by a dreamlike nostalgia and sun-drenched euphoria, creating a sonic space that bridges the gap between functional dancefloor utility and cerebral home listening. Often associated with the lo-fi house movement, float house distinguishes itself through polished production and a focus on shimmering, melodic structures that evoke weightlessness.
