Florida Rap-Events dieses Wochenende in Los Angeles

Florida rap is a regional subgenre of Southern hip-hop that originated in the 1980s Miami bass scene before diversifying into the gritty, distorted aesthetics of the SoundCloud era and modern trap. The sound is defined by heavy 808 sub-bass, rapid-fire percussion, and often incorporates dark, atmospheric synths or eerie piano melodies. Rhythms are typically syncopated and high-energy, facilitating a mood that oscillates between aggressive street anthems and hedonistic party tracks. While sharing DNA with trap and crunk, Florida rap maintains a distinct identity through its unique regional slang and the raw, unpolished vocal deliveries found in hubs like Broward County, Orlando, and Jacksonville.
