Glitchcore-Events in Los Angeles

Glitchcore is a hyper-kinetic microgenre that emerged in the late 2010s, primarily gestating within online communities on platforms like SoundCloud and TikTok. It is characterized by its intentional embrace of digital artifacts, employing heavy bitcrushing, distorted synthesizers, and frantic vocal processing that includes extreme pitch-shifting and stuttering effects. The rhythm is typically fast-paced and erratic, mirroring the chaotic sensory experience of the modern internet era while maintaining a structural link to hyperpop and digital hardcore. This genre prioritizes a high-energy, abrasive mood that oscillates between playful maximalism and claustrophobic aggression, effectively turning software errors into a deliberate aesthetic statement within contemporary electronic music.
