Acid Trance-Events in Madrid

Originating in the early 1990s across Germany and the United Kingdom, acid trance is a subgenre of electronic dance music characterized by its heavy use of the Roland TB-303 synthesizer's squelching, resonant filter sweeps. It evolved from the intersection of acid house and early trance, maintaining a driving 4/4 rhythmic foundation typically set between 135 and 150 beats per minute. The genre emphasizes hypnotic, repetitive melodic structures and psychedelic soundscapes, creating a mood that balances high-energy euphoria with dark, subterranean textures. While it shares the hypnotic intensity of techno and the melodic focus of trance, its defining feature remains the distinctive, modulated 303 basslines that distinguish it from its parent genres.
