Perreo-Events dieses Wochenende in Madrid

Perreo is a high-energy urban genre and dance style originating from Puerto Rico's underground scene in the late 1990s, evolving as a gritty, dance-focused evolution of reggaeton. It is defined by the pervasive dembow riddim, featuring heavy synthesized basslines, sharp electronic snares, and repetitive, rhythmic vocal hooks designed to drive provocative physical movement. While sharing deep roots with Caribbean dancehall and hip-hop, perreo prioritizes a steady, syncopated 4/4 pulse typically ranging between 90 and 110 beats per minute. The mood is unapologetically club-oriented and sexualized, serving as the sonic backbone for the specific grinding dance from which it takes its name, bridging the gap between street-level reggaeton and modern global pop.
