Reggae Pop-Events dieses Wochenende in Madrid

Reggae pop is a genre that fuses the rhythmic and melodic characteristics of reggae with the accessible, catchy songwriting and production values of pop music. Emerging prominently in the late 1970s and 1980s, it often features reggae's signature off-beat guitar skank, prominent basslines, and relaxed drum patterns, but with more polished arrangements, synthesizers, and singalong choruses. The mood is typically upbeat, feel-good, and often romantic, making it highly suitable for mainstream radio play. It bridges the gap between the cultural roots of reggae and the broad appeal of popular music, often resulting in a lighter, more commercially oriented sound.
