Singer Songwriter-Events diese Woche in Madrid

The singer-songwriter genre emerged from the folk and blues traditions of the mid-20th century, reaching peak cultural influence during the 1970s as artists prioritized personal lyrical expression. Typical instrumentation centers on a singular acoustic guitar or piano, creating an intimate sonic environment that emphasizes the performer's narrative and vocal delivery. The rhythm is often fluid and subordinate to the lyrical cadence, while the mood remains predominantly introspective, melancholic, or authentically raw. Functioning as a bridge between traditional folk and mainstream pop, the genre serves as a vehicle for individual storytelling, distinguishing itself through the artist's dual role as both the primary composer and the principal performer of their original material.
